As to how to keep your Aeroplan Account Miles active in the future ...
Know that you cannot go longer than 12 months without activity
Easiest ways to do this if not flying are:
* Shop Costco Online Purchases
* Shop @ Home Hardware ... instore or online
* Shop using the Aeroplan Shopping Portal
* Transfer Miles from another Rewards Program

And as per their website T&Cs it is a case of you have to Register your card, and then use the applicable code to earn the Miles

So sadly, I don’t think you’ll be getting any retroactive Miles from past purchases @ Costco.ca
We shop online with Costco pretty regularly, it’s been a good source of Aeroplan Miles for us
As well as keeping our Aeroplan Account active, not dormant between flights
We always check in on what’s happening with Aeroplan before we sign in & buy at Costco.ca
(There is always a dedicated tab on the Costco.ca home page)
About once a month Costco runs an Aeroplan Bonus Event ... 2x, 3x etc the Miles
Be aware of that ... cuz you need a LIMITED TIME ONLY Bonus Code for that
(Otherwise you just get the 1x Miles)
It’s either listed in their Aeroplan Pg... or sometimes in the ads that go across the top of the Costco website
