Affordable Vacuum for Gravel and Pebbles

Short of a Dyson, can you folks recommend a vacuum that will hold up to the assault of gravel and pebbles carried in by customers into an office.

I'd like a machine that lasts a solid year before replacement.

I welcome any reasonable input.

Don't use consumer grade equipment for a commercial need. I'd get a small shop vac or something like that.

Not so easy there Ma…
Another vote for a shop vac. I've vacuumed a great many gallons of water with one, along with assorted stuff that went clunk, bang and clackity clack inside of it and that was really old second hand model made out of what looked like a great big V8 juice tin can! Probably an original model from the looks of it! Never died and I resold it to the next owner last year.

Shop vacuum with a handle attachment makes sense.

I'm looking for the best thing for the job, these questions about upright versus canister etc. I just want the best that works, that's easy to clean and so forth.

You shouldn't be looking at a dyson anyway. Get a wet dry vacuum with enough suction from a reputable brand and it should pick up debris just fine. Ridgid, milwaukee, dewalt.. they're not very complicated machines compared to cordless, light upright/canisters. Just a bin and a vacuum with filter.
Uh, yeah, I'd like to speak to a Mr. Tabooger, first name Ollie.

I have one, I just need the attachment for regular vacuuming.

Great thread, thank you folks.
