[Air Canada] AC Business Class | YUL/YYZ-FDF (Martinique) | November - Early December | 50K AP + $240

I came across this deal while looking to redeem 100K Aeroplan for some sun vacations next Winter. The deal is really good as the retail price for these tickets is >$2K/pp. If you book for two people, you are looking at ~$3.5K value for 100K points. If you book from YYZ, the price is the same but you'll have to connect through YUL. Direct flights from YUL-FDF starts on November 6th with 2 flights per week on Saturday and Tuesday. As for the destination itself, I think it's far more interesting than your typical Caribbean island.

Aeroplan flight rewards booked through July 31, 2021 can be changed or cancelled free of charge, at any time. You'll get all points and money back.

Showing $1200 those days with AC. For a 5 hour flight, business class doesn't matter. You can do Maldives for that price.

OP is discussing using Aeroplan points for the flight.

The Maldives +85 hours total trip in economy sounds very interesting. This deal is about getting Aeroplan business class redemption (50k points) for less than the economy price (75k points) + full refund flexibility.

I see many dates already gone up in price (77k points), the deal is still available for Nov 27 to December 4th and December 4th to the 11th, some availabilities in early January.

To me it matters. I will not sit in Y on a 5 hour flight in certain planes (think Rouge, think Max).

Yyz - fdf is 2,286 miles... So falls in the 1501-2750 mile band under air Canada's reward chart....

50k is normal price for business class to this destination, this not a deal/special price! Higher prices on other dates are simply reflecting dynamic pricing.

Economy regular price is 25k aeroplan points. Higher rates are again reflecting dynamic pricing....

I'm sorry but 1,501 - 2,750 band has 25,000 - 60,000 pts requirement for one-way but FDF at 2,286 miles you can't expect it to be only the minimum 25k. Dynamic pricing or not, good luck betting on the minimum.

Please enlighten us instead of trolling the forum.

($2,035 for a regular business ticket to FDF - $240 Aeroplan taxes/fees) / 50k points = 3.59 cents per point which is considered very good. The average under the old plan before it got devalued was 1.04 cents.

I’m not trolling as much as you’re misleading people basing it on fares that are ridiculous.

2035 is the current fare, it’s by no means the real value of such a flight, it will probably end up selling for 800 at one point prior to departure.

You’d have to be crazy to book such a fare for a 4 hour flight, especially in a regional business class. Heck, I paid $30 more to fly business return on AC to DXB.

A VFR route to FDF will have nobody who pays that fare and most of the business cabin will be comprised of people using miles or upgrade instruments.

True but bad use of AP points doesn't make a hot deal.

I very much doubt that. I have tickets to a southern destination, 5 hour flight. Weekly departures. Business class completely sold out on the almost all dates.

There's a lot of pent up demand for travel to the south, so I would not be looking for business class bargain fares on such flights.
