Are Air Canada tickets Transferable?

My friend is going on a trip but his friend dropped out, and offering me his ticket for a discounted price. I am not sure but if I remember correctly, Air Canada does not allow transfers of the flight, only refunds/credit.

Is this true? I can't find it anywhere on the site but I am assuming this is the case, just incase some people scalp AC tickets lol.

Depending where the original destination was, AC will allow u to transfer the name for a fee. If it's within Canada, it's $100 per direction.

If it's an Air Canada Vacations package, sometimes you can change the name on them for a fee up to a certain number of dates in advance.

If it's just a regular Air Canada ticket, it's completely non-transferable.

Who did your friend get the original ticket from? Air Canada directly or a travel agent/website?

It depends on the type/class of ticket bought. Some are refundable but most are not. Why don't you ask your friend to find out from your friend what it is, then contact AC to find out for sure.

Probably not.

Your friend will likely have to take a credit from AC which will expire In a year plus lose 200 in cancellation charges.

Unless she has a high fare ticket (which is not common for leisure travel) she's Prob SOL.

Rules are different for AC vacations I just don't know them.
