[Air Canada Vacations] DEAL DEAD [YYZ to MUC (Munich, Germany)] $795.62 for Most of March-June 2019 and maybe more

http://vacations.aircanada.com/

Click on the 'Flights' tab, check 'Direct Flights only', put 'MUC' as the destination and for my test dates from March to June, $795.62 is the airfare, except for an itinerary around Spring Break from March 11-15 or thereabout.

Didn't test November or part of December 2018 or any other airport besides YYZ but feel free to share your discoveries here. :)

Here's the flight schedule that lists eligible destinations from various Canadian airports:

I think it's a pretty good deal because the same direct flights on AC or Lufthansa is around $1050 or so. This fare class (T) may charge for checked-in baggage though.

Base Fare and Surcharges
Base Fare and Surcharges$633.76

Fees, Taxes and ChargesCanada Airport Improvement fee$25.00
Canadian Air Travellers Security Charge$25.91
Germany Airport Security Charge$11.00
Germany International Passenger Service Charge$34.00
Germany Air Transport Tax$62.70
Harmonized Tax$3.25
$161.86

Total price (per person)$795.62

So whats the deal here? Those are pretty lame dates to go back to europe, and pretty standard pricing.
Air canada is also overpriced. Was loooking for flights in January for paris. Air canada quoted 1100$ and the next day couldnt find cheaper than 1200$. Booked with air transat for 870$ all in (including 1 big luggage, AC now charges you for those)
Have a look at Air transat, Norwegian, and other flight comparator companies. Only good thing about AC is aeroplan, and people dont mind paying full price because they invoice it back to their company.
Big let down, AC, big let down.

University students are usually off from May to August too so the price is good enough for me compared to 60k aeroplan + $220 on United since I don't want the hassle of US homeland security in Chicago. I might as well sell my 240k aeroplan miles at 1.6 cents each and cover this extra out of pocket trip cost.

I did see two $870 fares on my flight dates on one of the aggregator's website but that was for a one-stop flight and not a direct flight.

Those were the cheapest with a stopover at Iceland I believe.

I understand it's not a deal for you but I don't mind saving $75 to $250 for something I have to book anyway lol.

For AE card holders, better check if you have received the promotions for "$250 bill credit when spend $1200 with Air Canada Vacations". If you are traveling in the couple that might save a little bit

Good point. I only received a $200 statement credit offer.

I doubt the $50 masterpass will work but I did try to double dip.

So it likely was a price error. It's now $995.

I got the invoices from Air Canada Vacations so I guess they did honor the earlier pricing.
