[Air Canada] YYZ -> Japan $540, YVR -> Japan $510 Non-stop (May 2021)

Pretty good prices for May 2021.
Toronto to Japan for May 2021 Non-stop (Air canada) at $540, there are likely other dates as well. But like most of us, we want as late of a date as possible.
Example google flights (May 02 2021 to May 16 2021): https://www.google.com/flights?lite=0#f ... 1;sd:1;t:f

Vancouver to Japan for May 2021 Non-stop (Air canada) at $510
Thanks to [email protected] for this - Similar flight from YVR (May 02 2021 to May 16 2021): https://www.google.com/flights?lite=0&h ... 1;sd:1;t:f

Air canada COVID-19 cancellation / refund policy: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/hom ... id-19.html

"We have implemented highly flexible and expanded booking options. You can make a one-time change without a fee for all new or existing bookings made through July 31, 2020 for original travel between March 1, 2020 and July 31, 2021. If you booked directly with Air Canada and you need to cancel for any reason, you can convert your ticket to an Air Canada Travel Voucher that has no expiry date or to Aeroplan Miles with an additional 65% bonus miles."

65% bonus aeroplane miles sound fair at first but when they control how many miles are needed to redeem a flight it could be worthless...

hmm, if you stay late in july, you might be able to catch the summer olympics..

not sure how that would feel in this day and age.

If you change your flight, is the price you pay now still locked in or do you pay the new price at the time of the change? I am going to guess that it's the latter.

It starts getting kind of hot in May, hopefully March/April will drop in price also.

Hundred Points Symbol...Air Canada is relaunching Aeroplan soon (was suppose to be Aug IIRC but now delayed due to Covid) so I could totally see them planning to devalue the points by 65% beforehand and then factoring into their Covid response

So everyone thinks a big devalue from AP coming because of AC revamping of it's program?

Well can't travel now, what should be the best redemption

March and April are still like $600-$700 they can definitely drop to $560 for sure. I don’t know if we will see $4XX for this route, but I am not going to rule it out.

I do not mean to hijack this thread, I have 4 30% off discount code for a pair of tickets will expire in September 6. Do you think AC will extend the expiry date? The trip need to complete on or before September 6 and I don’t think people will travel this year. I also have $2K voucher need to use before September 6 to book a flight. Anyone had experience to use these discount and voucher? Thanks.

You should probably contact AC, as the extension would need to come from them.

It's not a true non-stop.
You may get a non-stop on the outbound, but inbound there's still a 1 stop at YYC.

Depending on your dates, if you make it 2 stop, you could even get it down to $489.

Can confirm. Friend works for AC, in an executive position. Air Canada is not in a place to give out refunds right now..to do so would affect them majorly. They wouldn't go into details as to why.. didn't wanna push for more info.

Book with caution if you must but be prepared to not get your refunds if this pandemic extends well into 2021...
