[Air Canada] YYZ-TYO (Tokyo) NON STOP ($635-675) August 2020- April

Gonna get ripped for posting a travel deal in the midst of Corona, but this is a good deal.

Sample Date https://www.google.com/flights?hl=en#fl ... 1021893887

I would have credited some of the travel deal sites but I found this myself because I had a google flight alert set.
Just checked YYZ deals and they have the deal posted too.

Remember 14 day mandatory quarantine in both Japan and Canada (28 days together), there is no way the Feds will lift this restriction by August.

Depending on how the shutdown is lifted and travel restrictions change, it was mentioned the 14 day mandatory quarantine as well as if you get sick while abroad, you might not be covered by insurance or you might not be able to come home at all until you’re fully recovered if Canada still has the global travel advisory against anyone leaving the country. There was an article about this exact thing where you could be on the hook for crazy expenses if you do get sick. Something to think about.

Right now Canadian citizens are not allowed to fly into Japan. Hope they open it up.

I wouldn’t make any travel plans before fall 2021.

The worse is ahead of us next winter, and even if vaccine is approved early next year, it will take a lot of time to produce the needed quantities.

So the most optimistic scenario is summer 2021, the most realistic is winter 2021/2022

Medical insurance is an issue, and if you have any cold symptom and even a running nose you can not board your return flight. Keep that in mind.

$0 change fee. (Fare difference applies)
Pretty good deal.

I picked a random day Sept departure and November return.
It was $715. Still a great price.

Keep in mind though, Japan is one of the worst country you want to be right now.
They don't test people enough. So the current infected rate is highly underrated and young people in their 20s are dieing in that country even before seeing a doctor.

They have only tests 2,300 people per 1M population.
South Korea with 18,000 people and they had 0 new cases for a while.
Canada is at 44,000 people per 1M.

You are aware that fare difference will be significant if they see increase in demand?

Also, check the full conditions of the ticket - most ticket are only valid for one year from issue date, so you cannot fly past this date.

Japan has an entry ban at the moment, no? If you're not a citizen you're not getting in, quarantine or no. This is a good price and may be worth looking into for a trip in 2021, but I'd HIGHLY caution bookings in August or September at this rate.
