Air Miles Shops 15x miles site wide May 23

Deal Link:
Expiry:
May 23, 2020
Retailer:
Air Miles
"Tomorrow, May 23, we’ll be celebrating the next exciting chapter in Happy Any Day with 15x the Miles sitewide*
through airmilesshops.ca"

15x the miles works out to be +14 on top of the base milage. Can stack with other multipliers. But it adds not multiplies.
Eg. 15x promotion: 1 mile per 20$ (base) + 14 mile per 20$(15x multiple) = 15 miles per 20 $.
Eg. if there is another 5x promotion on a store you would get 1 (base) + 4(5x multiple) + 14(15x event) = 19 miles per 20$

15x works out to be roughly worth $1.58 per 20$ in cash miles or 7.9% back in cash miles.

Is there any way to use this to get AM on amazon, ebay, Canadian Tire, or Presidents Choice gift cards?

They say only valid on stores that normally allow air miles on gc purchases but can't find a list.
I have had mixed success with earning miles while sending myself amazon gift cards. Incidentally has happened when I buy Amazon e-GCs with prepaid visa gift cards from promotions. Don't think that it was supposed to happen.

Do you think the new MacBook Pro 13” would be eligible under this promotion? Or should I wait for some other deal? Hard to find much for brand new Apple products though.

this seems like a great deal, is 15x the miles as good as it gets on shop airmiles?

They slashed affiliate commission to try and stop the amount of orders. Was watching a show the other day that basically spelled out that Amazon was so busy they are actually less profitable now than before due to having to pay extra to fill orders, hire staff and keep the machine moving at an unprecedented rate so they are actively trying to suppress orders.

opinion, looking to make apple purchase, which would u rather take 5% cashback @ brim mastercard vs 15x @ airmiles (~7.5% in points)

i'm thinking brim, even if its lower as i dunno how long i have to wait for the airmiles to arrive

Yea the amazon machine is really overwhelmed by the pandemic. Many problems and the new staff they are hired clearly aren't trained.

In my many years and tons of purchases, always had good experiences until now with it.. They screwed up several orders, sent me wrong things, charged me xtra, sent me extra things that probably belong to others, marked the tracking wrong, etc.. And even after I contacted them with all the mistakes which costs me hundreds of dollars their offer was a $10 promotional credit on my next purchase... (Not to mention the fact orders are that used to take a day are sometimes taking over a month)

They also screwed that up somehow, and only put a $5 credit.

Normally a customer experience mistake is an easy reply to their email and fixed too.. But they also shut down email support , and not worth my time to do a live chat for $5.

Air miles shops miles are faster then most things airmiles. Though does vary by store and I'd never purchase from apple so can't comment htere. But I bought from samsung recently and the miles showed up surprisingly fast, a week or so after. And when they do multipliers, they aren't set up like other bonuses that take months, they show up the same time the base ones do.

Brims setup is via affiliate payout too, just masked more. So they too im sure will wait as long it takes apple confirms they will pay them out before they release the points to you.

(and per the OP, the air miles cash option is 7.9%, easily much higher with dream but yea how long it will take to redeem for something you want/worthwhile, impossible to say.)

Yes, most definitely. I was in a similar boat. The options that I could have chose between were multiplier bonuses with Aeroplan credit card and eStore (7x the points total), Brim Marketplace (5x bonus), Airmileshop (15x multiplier), or Drop (80 pts/$), or wait for another Aeroplan eStore multiplier (it was 5x for Mother's Day, combined total 11x).

Personally, I chose to collect Aeroplan miles because I know how to maximize their value. Airmilesshop was a close second choice as it was a good amount of Cash Miles. If Aeroplan comes out with another multiplier bonus for Father's Day, I will cancel my current order and re-order. That will be by far the best offer for me.

I was on the fence with Brim Marketplace because I didn't know if it was 5%, period, or 5% + the cash back earned on the credit card (1-2%). Does anyone know? Regardless, it wasn't as good offer an offer as Airmilesshop. The offer with Drop was worth quite a bit (8% cash back equivalent as long as you can redeem for a gift card) but I've had terrible experiences with Drop actually registering my shopping and terrible experiences fighting to get the points I was entitled for. The offer with Airmilesshop is worth 7.4% (varies depending on exact $ amount due to base collection of 1pt/$20) in cash back, it's easy to redeem, AND you get your regular credit card cash back. It is a good offer.

I had a fantastic experience with Airmilesshop during their Black Friday promotions. I got all the points that I was expecting to get it and in a timely manner.
