If you are travelling to US or have shipping address or a friend/relative is coming to Canada soon then it’s worth it. These are $779 here.

Didn’t posted in Hot Deals section as it’s not Canadian retailer.

Do these come with a hooker or something?
Why are headphones more than my actual phone?
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

high priced headphones are not a new thing though. Most of the best ones cost (a lot) more than these.

I have my eye on a set of these. https://danclarkaudio.com/aeon-2-noir.html

That's the thing that peeves me.....some Apple stuff was perpetually on sale at Target and BestBuy.com but we never got anywhere close in Canada. Example: $199 Homepods were almost a given in the US.

I have said the same thing about more expensive headphones, but from what I understand they're worth it.

Are these worth the price tag or are these like Beats and awful?

Yeah.....It's one of those things that if you appreciate the difference, it's worth it. I don't recommend most people spend that much though (more than $500)

But I wouldn't buy these at this price, I'm fine with my non-Apple alternatives which cost less money. Also, the Galaxy Buds+ and Airpod Pros I have are more than adequate for much lower price.

For home listening, I'd rather save up for a set of Dan Clarks or Hifiman Sundaras instead.

This is going to be like the HomePod. Already big discounts on it 8 months in as it stalls on retailers shelves, and we'll probably see even a bigger discount come Black Friday. The HomePod was a whopping 33% off at Black Friday so there is room for this thing to go lower. Apple reduced the price on the HomePod when it didn't sell, and maybe we'll see that here.

Good product (but not without flaws) and actually worth some kind of premium over the competition, but the public won't take to it much, and eventually might just be discontinued. Maybe they will take the idea and make a cheaper version (like HomePod mini)

I’m an audiophile and have built two-channel systems costing tens of thousands. But I can just never see myself spending 500 bucks on headphones. I see headphones / earphones as a “secondary” source of sound delivery, not a primary one like a system with full range, full size, two or thee driver speakers. So my philosophy has always been to max out on my primary system and cheap out on my secondary.

These, like all Apple products, are way overpriced. Are they preferred in double blind listening test, do they measure better than cheaper alternatives or just because it's got Apple's logo on it, it's assumed to blow everything else out of the water?

Although I agree that headphones don't compare to a good hifi system in many ways, I do have to deal with the reality that I spend more of my time listening to music through headphones than sitting in front of a dedicated set of speakers. So I would argue you should optimize the system you actually spend the most time listening to. After all, it's about enjoying your music, and better headphones will do that effectively. $500 in headphones barely scratches the surface, so don't write it off until you've heard what a good headphone system can do.
