alcohol prices going up in Quebec 2011???

Hey my buddy just sent me a text messages informing me to stock up on booze, as the price will be going up in 2011?

Probably a higher tax %

I have tried to google this to confirm it and havent come accross articles stating this..

Anyone know if this is true? As if it is ill go out and stock up, might aswell..

i don't know about beers but i do know that la SAQ is increasing price next year

When you say "stock up" it makes it sound like the price is suddenly going to skyrocket or double in price or something.

I'd imagine if its true that it will be a small % increase. like 1 or 2.. hardly worth stocking up boxes of alcohol for.

Would anyone know of a link i can read up on this..
Im mainly a beer person so i wouldnt mind buying 10 + cases before the increase if it saved me 2-3 bucks a case..

Or if anyone has any other info..

Well the sales tax for everything is going up 1% in 2011 and another 1% in 2012
