Alibaba shipping? Anyone have experience with shipping from China to Canada?

Hi,

I would appreciate anyone that knows or has experienced buying goods through Alibaba and having them shipped to Canada.

So I am looking at ordering furniture and small items for retail in Canada. Considering these items I plan on reselling, I plan on buying medium to large quantity. Weight wise anywhere from 200 to 500 kg. The price these sellers offer are tempting but the moment I get quotation for shipping, it just makes the whole deal of ordering through Alibaba not worth it.

Can anyone share their experience or has knowledge if there are better ways to reduce the shipping costs? Are there companies available in Canada that can manage the shipping, prepay the customs and duties so these items don’t sit on a dock?
