Xiaomi just released a new phone in their Redmi series. Snapdragon 625 is a good chip and the battery seems decent.

Buy from any of the merchants, all of them should be good. I personally haven't experienced any buy from any merchant yet.

Comes with MIUI 9.5 OS which is based on Android Oreo 8.1
This youtube review seems good, please watch it through before deciding:

4/64GB is also cheap (USD $189).

Great that it has a true dual sim + microSD card setup, not a shared nano/microsd and one nano.
720p screen may not be for everyone, I think most are looking for 1080p but it is a budget phone.
MicroUSB, too bad but since they didn't move to USB-C on the Note 5 Pro, I guess this was to be expected. Though they did move to USB-C for the Mi A1, another budget offering that rivals this one for not much more.

For the same price I'd choose Mi A1: better screen resolution(Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) vs 720 x 1440 pixels), more RAM (4Gb vs 3Gb), USB-C and Android One instead of MIUI.

Correct! I think they have a lot of micro usb ports and 625 chip in the warehouse, just getting rid of them.

This... or if you can follow some instructions to play with custom ROMs the Redmi Note 5 might be a better choice than the Mi A1 too. Both are good options.
