Never knew they got so inexpensive. But rather spent $15 more to get faster from Amazon. And far easier to return

Germicidal wavelength UVC BURNS OUT YOUR EYES

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviol ... #To_humans
UV light is hazardous to most living things. Skin exposure to germicidal wavelengths of UV light can produce rapid sunburn and skin cancer. Exposure of the eyes to this UV radiation can produce extremely painful inflammation of the cornea and temporary or permanent vision impairment, up to and including blindness...
"But maybe this isn't that bright so it doesn't matter" you might say?
Dosages for a 90% kill of most bacteria and viruses range between 2,000 and 8,000 μW·s/cm2.
0.2 μW/cm2 was widely interpreted as the upper permissible limit of irradiance at eye height.
For the light to actually kill anything it needs to produce 2500+ microwatts per second per square centimeter. For it to be safe, it needs to produce less than 0.2 microwatts per second per square centimeter. Either the lamp does NOTHING or it is TOTALLY UNSAFE.

Which is why they are illegal - they MUST be registered under Canada's PCPA law, and currently not a single device targeted towards consumers is.

These should be used in an enclosure with blowing air through it.

Room air will circulate when the lamp is on. Ozone can help too.

Not regulated ( no medical claims ).

Under a UV-C irradiance of 0.849 mW/cm2 [254nm], partial inactivation occurred from 0.8 s of exposure, while SARS-CoV-2 virus infectivity was reduced to below detectable levels in as few as 9 s for dried virus (Table 1; Fig. 1A) and 4 s for wet virus (Table 1; Fig. 1B).

and ...

Treatment with 0.1 and 0.05 ppm ozone gas for 10 and 20 hr, respectively, decreased SARS-CoV-2 infectivity by about 95%. The magnitude of the effect was dependent on humidity.
