I was watching the launch video of the new pocophone X3. Looks like a decent phone with Snapdragon chip and 120Hz display with a big battery.
Not sure how long will it take to reach Canada but right now they are having some early bird discount and for C$320 + shipping its a bargain.
Please share your opinions.

Also stereo speakers, IP53 rating and NFC (obviously), pretty good for a budget midranger.

I would've bought it if I didn't get a just get a Redmi Note 9 Pro. For around the same price, it slightly better (stereo speakers, 120 Hz).

In for two. Was waiting for a good sale on the Note 9 Pro after my $280 order from DHgate got cancelled. This is even better!

Now the challenge is finding a tempered glass and case for it.

Anyone heard of Poco?
How does this phone compare to the OnePlus or Essential?

I have a essential phone currently .

Poco is just sub brand of Xiaomi. The UI is bit iOS type, far away from essential or OnePlus stock like interface. It should be good upgrade from essential but phone size is huge compared to essential phone. If you are good with rooting and stuff you might eventually get essential like UI once customs roms are available.

Rest of the specs look great but... so hard to know if its any good. A secondhand S10 would probably blow it away (koodo), but thats not exactly a direct buy price.
Why does kimovil give different support between public mobile, Koodo, and Telus? It claims they each support a different number of 4G bands.

damn, deal breaker: NO wireless charging smh!

but if its rootable.unlocked bootloader. custom roms? i'll reconsider

2/3 fido bands 4g...good enough for that 3gb unlimited free data 100% off sim plan!

Pulled the trigger. Hopefully I receive it before next year. Xiaomi phones are great and generally have decent support from the community, especially when they have a Snapdragron CPU. My first Xiaomi phone was the Redmi Note 3 Pro, and speeds were great on the Fido network -- this phone has the same band support.

I actually like MIUI a lot, but it does require some tinkering, especially to remove the ads.

With a 33w charger and at this price, wireless charging is irrelevant.

Very tempted. Solid mid-ranger for the price. My OnePlus 5 is still functioning fine but the battery is definitely showing its age, wondering if I should hold off one more year before buying a new phone.

excellent deal if you don't mind only having 4/9 4G service. can potentially limit you if you plan to hope between providers (i.e. black friday theres tons of deals)
