Kurtz7834 wrote: The hardware specs are amazing for the price but if it's never going to get Android or security updates, or the hardware dies after 6-12 months, then it's not such a deal after all.
Has this company supported their past phones with Android updates?
I have the F1 Play. The build quality is very good. I received two updates since I received it in April. Updates were camera "improvements". Last security patch shows Jan 5th 2019. I doubt there will be many security updates.

Picture quality on the F1 Play's 48MP primary camera is not that great even in sunlight. It's over exposed, and the white balance is really off. Night time is just plain terrible. My 3-yr old Moto Z Play took significantly better pictures (if we're strictly speaking about the F1 Play). My friend has the original F1, and the white balance and crispness is better than the Play. It's not just about hardware, it's about software post-processing. This A5 Pro has the Sony IMX398 sensor... and it's a great good sensor as MANY OnePlus phones have this sensor. But if you have terrible post-processing, then you'll have terrible results.

When phone is officially released, you'll get it within 4-6 weeks from that date with free shipping option. If you paid for the $11 DHL shipping, you'll get it within a few days from the official release date.

What are people going to use for a case and tempered glass screen protector? Is it worth ordering these at the same time? I don't see any accessories in the official Umidigi store?

Thanks, I ordered one.

Was going to wait for the F1 Play to show up on Amazon.ca, but who knows when that will be. Willing to take a chance ordering a phone from China at this price.
I am sure it'll be better than my current slow junky old a5 samsung galaxy phone.

Caveat emptor, buyer beware. Check the shopping discussion sub-forum on this site. There's two threads by different users on Aliexpress's dispute resolution:

a. aliexpress-wont-issue-full-refund-2285896/;

b. aliexpress-dispute-refund-only-return-goods-2220343/

I can't say either or as I have never purchased (or visited) Aliexpress. However, if what the people in those threads say is true, it looks like you'll only be getting a portion of your money back if there's something wrong with the product. Just an FYI.

I use to have a Lg g6 before my A3 Pro and like the A3 more.
But Lg g6 is a very good phone. It is a matter of taste i supposed!

I never had any problems whit a dispute case at Aliexpress, buy from them for at least 3 years.
Always been very help full and fast fully refund and never had to return a purchase item.
But your claim as to be justified and not a foolish reason for a refund.
Read the seller informations carefully before buying like every where else on the internet.

I don't think $100 Cdn is ever happening with this phone. Even at $120ish Cdn margins must be very low on this kind of hardware.

I caved and ordered this, Android 9, 1080p, decent camera sensors and 4100 mah battery for $120, crazy price, I'll give it a try. This makes the Redmi 7 look overpriced, lol. This will be backup to the Redmi Note 7 that i have coming. It's $140 less than that phone cost.

What's a good rugged case for this phone? I can't find anything on Ebay yet, and I'm assuming the case it comes with will be crap.

It's micro-USB.
They uploaded an unboxing video on youtube earlier today.
