Are you me?
Nah, $45USD declaration wouldn't trigger on Canada Post.Maybe it is for the best because i will move in 7 days to the address that the phone will arrive but now i expect a nice tax of 20-30$ to pay for it.
It's a flat rate compared to others (UPS).
It just sucks since that flat rate is 50% of the declared value.
If this were a flagship price, it'd be awesome because it's still $16 even though the declared value is $1000.
UPS? Sure, assuming you mean ground. Air is fine.bionicbadger wrote: ↑Jul 10th, 2019 1:08 pmHow do you guys not know about never getting anything shipped international with DHL and UPS yet?
DHL? I'll take DHL any day of the week over literally everyone else including Canada Post.
An exception to this would be low value items (ie this) since it's not worth $16 on a $50 declared value. But anything $100+? DHL every day.
Canada Post is $10 and slow. Plus you get carded which means a pickup at the post office.
DHL is $6 more and they deliver which means I don't have to put on pants.

Nah not according to that guy's screenshot up there. Delivered to the community mailbox just like any other parcel.death_hawk wrote: ↑Jul 10th, 2019 5:21 pm

Nice phone but the no NFC is the deal breaker for me. I live on Google Pay.

NFC is relatively rare outside of NA for paying right now. in China everybody just uses QR codes generated by the pay app.JohnnyDollar wrote: ↑Jul 10th, 2019 6:58 pmNice phone but the no NFC is the deal breaker for me. I live on Google Pay.
Unfortunately if you want NFC you'll pretty much have to stick with phones 'targetting' the NA market, although there are some outliers (i.e the Nokia 8 has NFC for paying but paradoxically don't support wireless charging, grr...).

I wouldn't say it's rare out of NA, since UK, Europe and Australia use NFC for paying quite a bit.repatch wrote: ↑Jul 11th, 2019 10:15 amNFC is relatively rare outside of NA for paying right now. in China everybody just uses QR codes generated by the pay app.

Not with their phones, at least not until very recently. I was in the UK and Europe (Finland & Denmark) last year, 'tap to pay' was new to them (machines supported it, but few used it that way), and when I pulled out my phone some shop keepers almost panicked.

Just hope they aren't busy like they were this time last year, where weeks in customs was common. Had one item sit in Canada for over a month.
I haven't seen reports of that sort of stuff going on, but it kinda comes out of left field when it does.
