How do you get the new buyer coupon. Was hoping to use for the MiBand 4 purchase.

It sounds like the "global" version of the Mi Band 5 hasn't launched yet, because apparently it will come with Alexa support, and I don't see that mentioned anywhere. Also haven't been able to find a single article that says it has launched yet, or given a date when it will launch. I think the version I linked earlier is just an English version of the original chinese mi band 5.

Guess I'll hold off for now since its like another $15 for version 5 over version 4.

i think you got burnt by stupidity, it has nothing to do with communist as china is definitely less communist than canada

right, i believe you can do it, good luck

I paid $35 for Mi Band 4 back in January from AE so $34.13 is not much of a deal.

If you care about sleep tracking, the Mi Band 5 tracks REM sleep whereas the 4 does not. You also don't have to take the band out to charge it on the 5.

I also have a Honor Band 5 and it does track REM sleep. It also displays how long you have slept on the band instead of having to sync to the app. The Honor Band 5 goes for about the same $$ as the Mi Band 4. The Honor Band 5 has a brighter display but consumes more power than the Mi Band 4.

I had the Miband 2 and even just as a simple watch with notifications is great. I bought it with super low expectations, i don't work out but step count is great, notifications is awesome especially if you're the type of person to leave your phone on silent for work meetings etc. It reminds you to stand up if you sit too long! Battery life I get 2-3 weeks!!! Charges back up in 30 minutes. Bluetooth connection I never had any issues and the app is pretty good.

Comparing to the Skagen smart watch I already bought this year....WearOS is finnicky and clumsy, i had to reconnect bluetooth a few times, occasionally it hangs but fixes itself, sometimes the time on always on freezes...which made me late for some things. But i bought it as a nicer watch to have vs the miband.

If you don't have a smartwatch already but interested, this is a must buy! It's $20 or less, a must buy!
I loved my Mi Band 2 as well. I fell out of the strap when I fell one day and I've been meaning to buy a replacement and a larger strap for my undainty wrists. But ya blink and two generations have gone by.

Mi Bands traditionally connect via Bluetooth to Android or iOS smartphones running their MiFit app. AFAIK there's no native ANT+ or Polar connectivity. To do that you need a smartphone with appropriate app, that in turn can talk to MiFit app.

I just received my Chinese Mi Band 5 yesterday, non-NFC. From what I was able to research, NFC is limited to AliPay anyway and not compatible with world banks. My past Mi Band was v2 so this is a huge upgrade for me. There is an option to share HR data with other devices, but I think this is BTLE only. I have Polar watch somewhere around here I can maybe try so if I find it I'll report back. It was super easy to change the language to English in the official Mi Fit app and they seem to have done a lot to incorporate some of the features I used to use a 3rd party app for.

Bought two for myself and my girlfriend. We just wanted something to track our run and not really bothered by the other features

You might want to install the Amazfit – Apps on Google Play app instead of MiFit. It's a newer "official" app and supports more features. If you have a login to MiFit, logout of it, install Amazfit, then login to that.

I'm waiting for mine from Ali, snail mail. NFC won't benefit me so I ordered the Chinese version.
