All in one hub for USB-C

Hi all,

My son has a laptop which has only USB-C ports. I'm looking for an AIO hub (USB, HDMI RJ45) not too expensive for him but i never use something like that? Do you have any recommendation based on your experience? I see on Amazon there are so many choices with unknown brand name, don't know if there is any good?

Thank you in advance
Tom

Ugreen makes good USB-C hub with all kinds of configurations. We use 2 at work - one on Macbook and one on HP Windows laptop. Both work fine.

I am currently using this one made by Anker for my 2021 14" MacBook Pro. It works well and fits my needs.

However, there is no power delivery. Not sure if that matters, but if you want one single cable to do everything, this may not be what you're looking for.

If your son wants to connect multiple monitors to the laptop then you'll need a more expensive USB-C dock.

I don't have this one but I have ones that are similar -> https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08HM1LF9P/. It's $100.

If your son doesn't need to connect more than one external monitor then a Ugreen hub should be fine. I have this one -> https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B082LPFM1X/ but if my laptop goes into sleep mode then it moves all of the windows from my 2nd monitor back to the laptop monitor. For this reason I don't really like it. Also, the micro SD card reader never worked on mine but I wasn't concerned about that. The SD card reader works at least.

Any recommendations in externally powered usb-c hub? So far I have only seen recommendations for non powered and have not been able to find much online for usb-c externally powered hub. Appreciate some insight
