all the sudden, I have insects in my home

Hi

I just saw 10-12 dead insect in my home. I am attaching a pic I took for one of them. What is called? Why all the sudden I see them close to my main window and most of them dead and one is about to die? How to prevent them in the future. Thank you very much.

Color is greenish. The shell split. Thank you for the hint.

Got it. The three dots on the pronotum were hard to match with other beetles. They don't seem too bad — and they're cute!

The elm leaf beetle is originally from Europe and was first discovered in Ontario in 1945. The beetle doesn’t cause permanent damage to a tree and does not transmit the fungus cause Dutch Elm Disease.

Elm Leaf Beatle - Wikipedia
Elm leaf beetles become active in the spring once temperatures rise above 52°F (11°C). In fact, weather is one of the most limiting factors in their population growth.
