The last time we saw such a sale was during Canada Day.

AllTrails is one of the best/most widely used hiking apps out there.
Sign up for 50% off for the first year and it'll auto renew every year at the regular $29.99 annual fee unless you update your renewal settings. You can also cancel within 30 days and receive a full-refund.

The three-year plan is 33% off.

Anyone have experience with AllTrails Pro vs the paid version of Gaia - which app is better in Canada? Theoretically it shouldn’t matter, but I find the free version of AllTrails useful for all the user reviews.

Thanks for posting. I use AllTrails free version to look at reviews for potential new hikes. I've never subscribed to the Pro version but might check it out at this price.

We're going on a Lake Superior road trip in early October (too bad, looks like we're going to miss out on the Fall colours by this time :( )

I feel like they are used for different things. AllTrails is good for user contributed tracks. Gaia has curated map layers including backroads mapbooks. They are complementary but alltrails free is fine.

All Trails does tend to have trails that other apps do not, but I really dislike that it doesn’t have the capability to download an “area of interest”. You must plan ahead if you want out of cell coverage mapping information. This is my biggest complaint and has been a huge disappointment.

REI Hiking project and Trail Forks, both free, work off of downloading ALL mapping and trail description data for a province, state, or country in one shot - super convenient.

I’m planning on asking for a refund as downloading each and every map for a potential hike in an area is just lame.

I purchased this last year when it was on sale as well. The app is pretty useful if you want to find a new trail you haven't tried before in a specific area. I haven't tried any other hiking app but what I find the most useful is the user reviews (mostly to see if the trail is busy/overpopulated) and the record function to track your hike/walk/bike ride.

Does anyone know if you can purchase this subscription sale and add it on to an existing subscription (I know it says first year but perhaps it can be)?
