Alternative (cheaper) to Go Pro for a 9yr old?

Anyone have any recommendations for a Go Pro style camera at a lower price point? Odds are it gets lost so would rather not spend more than around $100. It's for a 9yr old girl - she wants to wear it skiing and swimming so needs to be waterproof for at least a few feet depth

Yi action camera & SJCAM comes to mind on cheaper alternative to GoPro.

Both has their short coming in term of lack thereof features & extras.

Looking at the SJCAM 4000, it's about $100 on Amazon, but I think it came out 6 years ago - which seems pretty crazy. Doesn't appear Yi or SJCAM can be found at any brick and motor vendors - only Amazon. London Drugs has "Safari" as their non Go-Pro brand

Is this for a present? (meaning it should be new?)
Might be able to find a good condition GoPro 4 for around $100

Yes, Xmas present for my daughter. I thought about used but we’re giving the santa story one more final push this year

Akaso V50X seems to be very well reviewed, $120 CAD though.

Akaso is a good discount brand - they have multiple tiers of pricing and plenty of reviews online comparing to GoPro's (obviously not as good, but gives you a good idea if it's decent)

The EK7000 is $64.99 and comes with a waterproof case. Would be a good starter cam.

I'm gonna try this one as if it doesn't work out, the Costco refund program puts me at ease

she was asking again today - she keeps saying "go pro" but I'm hoping she's not too focused on brand name. I'll post after a week or so how its' going - the only thing I'm worried about is the max SD card you can use is a 64gb, which could go real fast

Are you sure Santa only gives brand new in box gifts? I don't think it's official

It's available in store right now.
We used this one with 6yo (came without the tripod last year) - cheap and cheerful. Also has an option for phone app but found it was a little flaky.
