If you shop there often it's a great way to earn $15 store credit while helping out someone in need.
Not sure what these organizations are and I chose Zero Ceiling in the end just based on my recent encounter with many homeless youths in Vancouver.

Just a bump to remind you that tomorrow (October 16) is the last day to essentially get $15 free for anyone who shops at Altitude Sports.

Donate $15 to Right To Play, and we will give you the equivalent of $30 AltiDollars*, which you can use for a future purchase on the Altitude Sports website.

* Each AltiDollar is equal to one dollar CAD and will never expire.

**Non-refundable item. You can buy a single donation of $15 per season. Spring season: March 1st to July 31st. Autumn Season: August 1st to February 28th. Alti Action ends at 11:59pm EST, October 31st, 2017.

Most of charities will issue the receipt for donations of $20 or more.

Thanks for noticing the new expiry date. I guess they extended it. I update the OP.

It's a good deal, win-win. And when/if they ask you to review a product you've purchased, you get $10 to use on a future purchase. It use to be only $8.
I'm hoping they have the 'buy a new jacket, recycle your old jacket' promotion this year again, they gave out $75 credit for sending in an old jacket to be re-used by someone in need.

So the $30 won't expire, and you can do this every season, after one year you would have $120 Altidollars?

Do we have to be members?

I already paid for a membership but wondering if I hoard altidollars on another account.

Eligible amount of gift

This is the amount by which the fair market value of the gifted property exceeds the amount of any advantage received or receivable as a result of the gift. This is the amount for which a qualified donee can issue a receipt.

For example, a donation of $1,000 is made to the Anytown Ballet Company, which is a registered charity. In gratitude, the charity gives the donor three tickets to a show that are valued at a total of $150. The donor is considered to have received an advantage of $150. Therefore, the eligible amount of the gift is $850 ($1,000 - $150).

I am confused. In this case, donate $15 and get $30 credit. Do I need to input an negative amount in the tax return?
If we can dream it, we can make it!

makes this even hotter for your average RFD user that earns over 200 K and has already donated over $200.

But the amount is under the $20 amount to get a receipt issued for claiming it on your tax form.

Plus was wondering if you donate to all three of their charities. Would you get $30x3=$90 in these Altdollars?

Or they do not allowed such "double dipping" for this promotion?
