There's nothing wrong with that. I do too for longer trips, especially if traveling down to the states.MakeItCheap wrote: ↑ Yes I still use a dedicated gps....

May I ask what Garmin model you are using?ROYinTO wrote: ↑ Shameless plug.
I recently bought a Garmin with built in Dash cam & drive assist features & wound up using a Ram Mount system from GPScity.ca to hang the Garmin from my rear view mirror. The Ram system keeps the dash cam "permanently" aligned.
When I bought it, I bought one of mounts in this thread as well as the other style from Garmin.

I've got both styles of the Garmin friction mounts available. I never got around to posting here on the BST or on kijiji. If anybody in the GTA wants one, send me a PM.

Won't help you with live traffic or accident avoidance/rerouting

I also never liked keeping my phone plugged in for long drives and GPS screens are typically larger.

How do you like it so far? I'm considering it but it got some bad reviews on costcoROYinTO wrote: ↑ Garmin DriveAssist™ 51 LMT-S

What led me to this model was the ability to connect wireless back up camera from the truck and a wireless rear view cam from the camper.
