Good find OP, haven’t seen it this low. Been eyeing the artisan but for this price the classic is a great buy. Black colour only it seems.

ahh idk about most folks but other than the functionality - I really love the color options. Empire Red looks sooooo fireee on the artisan. As Barbra Corcoran would say, "for that reason, I'm out!"
But sweet find OP!

Bought it for $187 a few years ago at Walmart for Black Friday, so it has been lower. With inflation and prices this year, it's still a very good price! I'd buy it if I didn't have one.

The Artisan is a 5qt and has a 325 watt motor. This one has 250 w. That is the main difference.

its the motor 250W (Classic) vs 325W (Artisan) and capacity 4.5 vs 5 quartz.

Biggest factor would be your needs and how often you would use it to create thick dough for bread. The Classic should be able to make most bread at 1 loaf, but I wouldn't attempt to make 2 or even bread recipes that require a well gluten developed dough, I doubt the motor can handle it. The Artisan should be able to make 2 loaves, but it isn't recommended to make that quantity on a consistent basis.

If you are using it for cookies/cakes or anything with soft dough really comes down to the capacity and both should suit your needs. If your a casual baker can't go wrong with either although the Artisan is more "future proof" if you want to get into the hobby a little more

I was wondering the same thing. Take a look at the comparison.

.5 quart larger
75 watts higher
Polished stainless steel bowl with handle
Different colours (Red as others have mentioned is pretty nice on this unit)
Pouring shield

Still a fantastic price OP, thank you.

If you click OP's deal link and scroll down you'll see the difference between the models. Artisan has a handle on the bowl, better finishing, a little bigger bowl and has more watts iirc
