I find it weird that many high rated products on Amazon like the above toaster have mostly 1 star reviews as the " top reviews ". I counted six 1-star reviews on the main product page, before clicking on "see all reviews" .

Try using Fakespot, it detects likely fake reviews and calculates a more realistic star rating.

If someone finds a good toaster, please do let me know. I'm tired of trying some of these sub-$50 ones.
I just want relatively evenly toasted bread

Walmart was clearing out these westinghouse 4 slice toasters for $14 and the 2 slice for $7. I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and I got the matching 1.7L kettle for $11 today.

Is the Westinghouse model any good? I see 1 in stock at my nearby store. Not sure if its worth checking out....

Good timing on the kettle, red was out of stock but there were 14 black kettles in my local (Nanaimo) Walmart - at an end cap not close to the aisle with kettles. Had to get an associate to help me. Price marked as $49.98 at end cap, rang up as $14. Basically just use my kettle to boil water for french press, temp gauge might come in handy as 200 degree F is optimal for press.
