[Amazon.ca] [$361.31] Pelican Elite 70QT Roto-Molded Cooler

Be sure to click on "new and others from..." after following the link to the Amazon page. The current listed price is a 3rd party seller. Not sure why Amazon doesn't just default to the cheapest option...

All-time low price on a Pelican cooler. Similar in function and durability to a Yeti, and comes with a lifetime warranty, could be a steal for someone looking to get a jump on grabbing their summer camping items before the season kicks off.

I have the smaller version that we keep our meat in when camping. We camp for around 6 or so days and it keeps the meat cold the entire time. Our coleman is good but not close to my pelican for ice and cold retention.

Remember people, prechill the cooler to get the best results!

Not sure the usage case for this... it's huge, heavy and 360 bucks. I guess if you regularly hold huge beach parties, lol. Or 'camping' if your idea of camping is being able to drive directly into your site.

Be aware that this is over 30 lbs even empty.

Lol $50 coleman. Not even comparable. This is made in the USA and they have a "you break it, we replace it" legendary warranty and it would probably use 1/2 the ice of a coleman. So you would go through so much more ice. Plus $50 every 2 years = $350 after 14 years. And you'd be driving a corolla for 14 years when you could be driving a ferrari. You could probably also use this pelican for 14 years and then resell it in 2036 for more money than you paid. They hold value.

Camping is walking to your campsite with your tent in your backpack.... not towing an "apartment on wheels" to a roadside location. Lol

There's lots of reasons for using a cooler other than "camping". People use these on boats to hold fish, or for tailgating parties, or for vehicle camping, or backyard parties, etc.

Bought the Yeti, returned it. Bought a Pelican, returned it. They hold temps and Ice great if you never open it, defeats the purpose. Buy a decent Coleman. Plenty of extra money for ice! (Use blocks when ya can, way better)!

When you absolutely, positively gotta have ice/frozen food that lasts a solid week in hot weather (without electricity) these (or Yeti) are worth it, IMO. That said, check out videos on how to pump up the insulating value of regular coolers with spray foam, reflective layers, and wet burlap (free coffee bags) on top in camp. With a little effort, even cheap coolers can keep ice almost as long as these if you don't mind a slight Clampett vibe.

Yes, BIFL. Hence, I was able to swallow the price for a Yeti (during Sportchek Friends and Family) and it has performed great the past few years.

Also a really sweet cigar storage option for premium cigars. Safer then reg humidors. Would rather buy 25 rubbermaid brilliance containers though

I do all sorts of “camping” from glamping to multi day solo off my back. This cooler is exactly what I wanted because of my other pelican products which have been a buy once purchase. I’m going to use this for my car camping get aways.

You’re pretty judgy about what people need want, and do….

Thanks OP - purchased.
