[Amazon.ca] 3M Pro-Grade Earmuff 25% off $34.99 to $25.99

Warm deal as it has been at this price a few times, but a decent deal if you're like me looking for some hearing protection for summer projects or even lawn work if you have loud tools. Has pretty decent reviews, Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 30 dB.

Also available at the same price at Canadian Tire to be combined with their Canadian Tire money offers like spend $50 and collect $10.

Looks to be similar noise reduction to my old-school 3M Peltor 105s.
Thanks for posting OP

Agreed, I was looking at buying those but I'm working with some louder power tools. NRR of 30 means it would have almost twice the sound dampening capability as I believe it's a 2.5dB difference, and sound doubles every 3 dB as it's on a logarithmic scale. NRR of 30 reduces sound decibels by about 11.5dB (30-7)/2 = 11.5 vs NRR of 25 reducing by (25-7)/2 = 9. If you don't need heavy noise reducing the classic pair is a better deal.

not nice getting permanent hearing loss, had a scare the other day, felt like lost a lot of hearing in my left ear while trying out my new router. Did not sound all that loud but I should have wore ear protection.

Have been using cheap Princess Auto ones, am sure this will be more than adequate as an upgrade.

Thanx OP for posting.

Do these work to block out noise indoors like a screaming baby and people talking?

In for 1, thanks OP!
Basil: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically -?

Nice, I'll check my earmuff NRR tomorrow and might buy this if it's better. I do earmuffs+plugs to make my work as quiet as possible (100+db mower and trimmer).

How do these compare to far more expensive active noise cancelling headphones?

Not the same thing. This 3m one works constantly, while the active cancelling will mostly work on steady sounds at a certain frequency, which is why you can still easily talk to someone even when using it.

If you only need rarely, can add a few $0.24 3M earplugs in with your Primecables order.

This plus wireless ANC earbuds (WF-1000xm4)...should be near perfect isolation.

The review from this Korean music producer is VERY promising.
