[Amazon.ca] $49.99 FREE SHIPPING - Gigabyte A520M S2H AM4 Motherboard - Build a computer for under $300

Built a computer with my nephew as a Christmas present now my cousin in-law wants to build a computer for his birthday. They are both under ten so parents said no gaming allowed.

I found this deal on a AM4 motherboard. Nothing too special but it does have everything you need on it including three different types of video out. D-Sub, DVI & HDMI. Plus you can flash the BIOS without installing a CPU. AMD is also releasing lower priced CPUs which this motherboard supports.

Ryzen 5 5600 $199
Ryzen 5 5500 $159
Ryzen 5 4600G $154
Ryzen 5 4500 $129
Ryzen 3 4100 $99

I got this case from Canada Computers for $44.99
DEEPCOOL Matrexx 55 No Power Supply Shroud ATX Mid Computer Case

If anyone is looking for deals on PSU
Canada Computers, Amazon.ca and Newegg.ca run deals daily on good quality PSUs for under $50. My nephew's computer is using a cheapo EVGA 500 BR 500W I got on Newegg for $43 shipped to my front door.

This is the computer my nephew and I built. I think we spent around $300 using my old GeForce 8500gt and old SATA SSD. Runs Windows 10 like a champ with a Ryzen 5 2600

Good price on the motherboard but shipping on your case is $25, this is available at Newegg for free shipping, saves $10, which if you're building a system as cheap as possible that can add up but without re-using parts like you did I think it would be very tough to do $300.

This power supply is on sale as well at Amazon.

Here is what I got for my 10 y.o. brother for $.
All second-hand components except the case.
CPU: i5-9400F
Memory: 8G
GPU: GTX970
Storage: 240G SSD
Case: Montech Flyer Micro ATX with RGB of course

I think for their generation at this age they should be able to play some games, so they can fit in and have conversations with other kids. Building a computer for kids I consider is upgradability and be somewhat future-proof.

No low cost processor available.

Athlon 3000g would be nice but OOS/overpriced everywhere.

You want a cpu with iGPU, because you don't want to add a discrete GPU for basic surfing. 4600G/5600G is what you are looking for.

all joking aside, does some one have the max dimensions for the NR200 handy?

265 x 235 mm Gigabyte A520M S2H

244 x 226 mm NR200

but people were saying that a certain "side" would fit?

does anyone know? thanks

** this one would fit ** 244 x 215mm B450M-DS3H-rev-1x

**Nope. max size for the NR200 is 244 x 226mm (L x H), but the B450M DS3H is 215 x 244mm (L x H). Standard mATX size is 244x244mm, this motherboard is smaller than average but in the wrong way for a NR200p**

maybe this one 226 x 221 PRIME-A520M-K
