[Amazon.ca] 5x Miles Amazon through Aeroplan eStore

It fluctuates, sometimes it's 1x (yesterday) but now it is 5x.
I happened to need to buy something so I click on the link and was surprise to see this high rate.

I spent 400 on some electronics and I will get 2000 miles off this.

PS: Just realized this is a Prime Day event, will last for 2 more days.

CIBC Targeted offer for Aerogold Infinite and Aerogold Business. No maximum spend, but gives 10 bonus AP per $ (in addition to base card earn of 1AP plus any AP status you may have).

We’ve got a special offer just for you. For a limited time, earn 10X the miles when you shop at Amazon.ca. That’s an extra 5 bonus miles per $1 spent exclusive to CIBC Aeroplan credit cardholders. Be sure to log in to the Aeroplan eStore first to take advantage of this three‑day offer∆.

Don’t wait – give your miles balance a boost now until July 16!

Yes, 10X the miles! For every dollar spent you earn 5 miles for shopping at Amazon.ca through the eStore plus 5 miles using your CIBC Aerogold® Visa* Card for Business at check out. And that’s on top of the miles you usually get just for using your CIBC card for your purchase.

You can’t use CIBC credit card and Cobalt at the same time. Also AMEX has another offer where you get 5X the MR points for Amazon purchases, objectively regular MR points are better than Colbalt Select points, so that’s a better offer if available.

I didnt know i would have to give step by step directions so there its:
1) use cibc cc for first $100 purchase thru aeroplan estore to get 10 off 100. (10% discount)
2) for purchases between $101-600, use cobalt which has a 5X offer upto $500 purchase (5-10% discount based on how you value MR-s points)

I dont have Amex MR card or cibc aeroplan card
thats why i didnt include those ones in my post. Some people with cibc aeroplan card received 10X aeroplan points which in my opinion is better deal than amex 5X MR.

1) Max 10% discount, effectively less since $100 on the dot purchase is unlikely.

CIBC aeroplan card's 10X is actually also objectively worse than the AMEX 5X MR, since you can combine AMEX MR offer with the Aeroplan estore 5X offer. MR transfers to Aeroplan at 1:1, so effectively you are getting 5X Aeroplan miles and 5X flexible MR points rather than 10X only Aeroplan Miles from CIBC.

Any idea where this offer is? I received the Cobalt offer but nothing about 5x for regular MR points (I have the Platinum too).

Amex targeted offer is 3x bonus MR (regular) with Gold/Plat, making it 5 AP + 4 to 4.25MR (with Biz Plat 1.25x) per $
OR
Amex Cobalt targeted offer is 5x MR-S making it 5AP + 5MR-S per $

CIBC offer is 5x bonus AP, for a total of 5AP (estore) + 5AP (CIBC bonus) + 1AP (base from credit car) = 11AP/$

IMO CIBC is best unless you prefer to collect MR but you're getting less value then.

Hi there,

Is it better then eBates or GCR, well, 1-2% cashback. Beside certain categories (at 10%), it is better?

In my view $10 off 100 from cibc is best offer cuz its 10% cash back rather than point which has a variable value depending on how you use it.
Also cibc $10 off can still be combined with 5X aeroplan estore offer

Targeted offer so YMMV. But as someone else pointed out it's 4X, not 5X, my mistake.

Didn't know CIBC gave an extra AP. Assumed they would just give 5 per dollar spent on Amazon.ca. If that's true, then 11 AP is definitely better.

As for the AMEX MR, my mistake, you're right that it's 4X (or 4.25 with biz plat), and not 5X. My bad.

Cashback portal offers like ebates/gcr/ aeroplan/airmiles can be combined with credit card offers. Essentially you can pick a cc offer that works for you to use with cashback-like portals to use on prime day deals
