[Amazon.ca] 65" / 75" TCL S546 Google TV (2021) $878 / $1130 price fluctuates

TCL 5-Series S546 2021 Google TV model

65" $878 (was $999)
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0979T ... 9EEQB&th=1

75" $1130 (was $1297)
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0979T ... 9EEQB&th=1

Prices at time of posting. Price has been fluctuating over the weekend.

These have been on sale since late last week. I would have posted this earlier but RFD doesn't seem to be keen on TCL tvs. I bought the 75" Saturday evening at $1090. I gambled but lost by not buying Saturday morning when it was at $1025.

The 65" is cheaper now, though, than it was over the weekend.

Any main difference between the 65" and 75" besides size? I know the Hisense 75" are a different panel then the 65"

Isn't that great of a deal.

Tcl tv's are cheaper when they are first released. There has been a $100 price increase over the months so you're paying retail for this tv.

Only the 75 inch is a good deal.

I'd probably buy from Best buy because these tv's don't have the best quality control and it's probably a pain to take the TV to a postal office. Not too sure how they do returns for tv's via Amazon.

I got the tcl 6 series 646 55inch before the $100 price jack and had to take one back to best buy because the power supply was faulty and would make a loud hum whenever the back light was used.

The TVs OS is meh. TV was pulled from bestbuy USA due to bad OS. it's been improving but I use this tv with a Nvidia shield. There was a recent update but still haven't gotten it yet. This is for the 6 series though.

I personally wouldn't trust quantam for tv reviews. He's a bit of a clown and wants you to buy his expert tv calibration tv settings. He doesn't use any equipment though.

Might be a good deal and all but best of luck dealing w/ TCL Support if needed.

I bought an exercise bike on Amazon that I returned. A courier company delivered it to me and they also picked it up from my house. I assume it'll be the same with a TV.

Hisense has pretty bad quality control compared to tcl and isn't recommended on the HTBuyingGuides subreddit.

I'd rather pay an extra $100 and get the TCL 6 series 646 vs the hisense u78. I got my 6 series 646 for $899 + tax

The Hisense u6g is more comparable to the 5 series since they are both 60hz tv's.

The Hisense u88 doesn't rly make much sense when the sony x90j is only an extra $100. Might as well spend a extra $100 and get better picture quality, upscaling, motion handling and quality control.

This is all for 55 inches.

Yes, this was why it was nice when Costco carried them. Didn't have to deal with TCL and we were able to get the purchase refunded on a gift card and bought a new TV with it.

Also, I'm always weary of buying TVs from Amazon since the last time I ordered one. I saw through my cameras how the UPS drive awkwardly and incorrectly handled the box carrying it to my porch, letting it slam on the ground a couple of times. It's way too big for one person to deliver. The box even fell over once he stepped away and then he had to lean it against the house.

No, completely different tier of TV. The Amazon FireTVs are pretty much all trash especially compared to a TCL 4 or 5 series on sale.

No local dimming
"HDR Support" aka doesn't actually support HDR content at all
