Soldered....
That’s the pain point. Any idea what iGPU 4700u is paired with? The Dell Inspiron 5000 say’s Radeon 10, read somewhere that Hp Envy has Radeon 8 or 7. Any way to find out specific version?

The 4700U should have the Vega 10 GPU, possibly on the same die.

It's pretty good for an integrated GPU.

Friends don't let friends buy laptops with <32 GB of non-upgradeable memory. You can buy an old DDR3 based laptop and upgrade the memory to 16GB for less than half the cost of one of these. It's a racket.

Edit: less than a third, actually.

Anandtech did a full review of this model. It looks good except for the screen. It's dim and has terrible color accuracy. That might not matter if you plan to use it indoors and don't do anything that requires accurate colors.

It also has throttling problems when playing demanding games, but it's not a gaming laptop so it's hard to fault it too much.

According AMD's website it has 7 graphic core, so I am assuming it's called vega 7 (?)

I might be thinking of the last gen name then.

I just know the 4500U / 4700U GPU Performance is respectable.

For those who don't need touchscreen (and extra RAM), weight is pretty good at 1.2 KG (2.65 pounds).

I guess HP got confused as well with AMD’s iGpu naming scheme and left it as AMD Radeon Graphics. Go figure.

It really is very clear that they've chosen to segment this laptop towards the casual and light productivity market. I can't fault them.

You can't do a whole lot on the productivity side nowadays without hitting all the walls on an 8GB alottment.

I did something a little excessive, I sourced 64Gb (2x32GB) 2666Mhz DDR4 so I can vacillate between 16Gb and 40Gb RAM usage without that shameful word... compromise. I do that currently on my 3800X system.

It's a little excessive, but that price was right, and dual channel is apparently supported on both the laptop and SODIMMs.

Best Buy ASUS Zenbook Laptop: Ryzen 5 4500U, 14" 1080p, 8GB - RAM, 256GB SSD, GeForce MX350. $550USD

An alternative if you can go to USA to pick one up. The ASUS has 100% sRGB and 300 nits display with a NVIDIA MX350.

There is, but you're paying $1200 to 1500 before you start seeing them.

Well, the screen is half the nits and the resolution is 1080p vs 4K.

Huge difference
