Prices are collapsing, it's a hopeful time.

When the GPT AI model is pointed towards technological challenges, including manufacturing, it's quite possible we could see a more rapid deflation in electronics. Speculative, but increasingly less so, with each passing day.

This current drop is driven by standard supply and demand, and conventional improvements in technology.

Something to came to mind, I swapped my Surface Laptop 3 SSD and still have the original one (M.2 2230, not sure about the key)

If I want to plug it in to the ps5 (to play ps4 games)
Do I need a heatsink for it?
I assume I'll need a 2230 to 2280 adapter, or does it take it as is? it does accept 2230
Do I have to confirm the key is compatible or does the ps5 accepts all SSD keys?
Anything I need to watch out or check out before doing that?
Is it worth using for gaming or is it not meant to and will end up damaging or run into so many issues with the games (slow?)

MS Surface Laptop 3 is a Gen 3 drive. PS5 needs Gen4.
That's 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10.

Correct, but I thought it'll still take Gen 3 and mark it to play PS4 games only, no?

it comes with those thin heatsinks. It's good enough for PS5 as is. No need to change the heatsink.

tempting! i am debating whether to get the crucial p3 plus for 308... bit slower but works fine for the ps5 based on reviews

Looked at it also but wasn't sure if the Sony software would check the write speed and would reject or allow it

I am lucky enough to own 2 PS5's. I upgraded both with 2 TB ADATA SSD's. But got without any deal :(

It's this single-sided like the 2TB SN850X and 980 Pro or dual-sided like most other 2TB drives?

Only buy nvme today when you need it because the price collapses daily. Also watch out for Adat's warranty, pretty hit or miss from various reports on here, Reddit and amazon, so YMMV. The review site might have different components than the one you got, so another YMMV. Good luck everyone, happy hunting.

Edited: very good price, upvoted.
