Decent price. I've got a couple of these that I bought for more. Saw the coupon for this and decided to share. Tempted to get another even though I don't need one.

I've got one of these, I'll trade it for an Nvidia 3090 or a 3080 plus cash.

Understandably, some folks only have SATA bays in aging machines, and this fits the bill.

For everyone else, not so much.

Give OP some praise for filling an appropriate niche.

Absolutely!
Crucial has a better reputation for endurance.

Here is a corrected link which brings you to the Standard Packaging instead of the Used ones:

https://www.amazon.ca/Crucial-MX500-NAN ... 003J5JB12/

The Adata SU800 has a 3-year warranty.
The Crucial MX500 has a 5-year warranty.

$5 for an extra 2 year warranty is probably worth it.

If this site is to be believed, it looks like the drives are pretty much identical

Fyi, the Crucial P1 PCIe 3.0 NVME uses QLC NAND. It is still faster overall than any SATA SSD.

https://www.anandtech.com/show/13512/th ... ssd-review

"That leaves the Crucial P1 as usually being very fast, and definitely faster overall than any SATA SSD. The use of QLC NAND doesn't cripple the drive, and is a detail that most consumers don't have to care about. Even at its worst, the P1 is still faster and more efficient than a mechanical hard drive."

Just get the NVMe, it's cheaper and way faster, and even it's otherwise 'mediocre' endurance is way more than you'll ever burn through unless you're running an in-demand home server or a professional photo and video editing workstation.

This SATA SSD should be reserved for systems where SATA is the only option, in my view.

https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-NAND-2TB-SSD ... 073SBRHH6/
This is $234 at Newegg.ca + Free Shipping and Canada Computers or $234.99 at Memory Express.

That WD Blue SSD is also sold under the SanDisk brand.

I would chose the the WD Blue SSD, they both have 5 year warranty, WD Blue writes a "little" faster and is cheaper.
Reliablity is a question since WD/Sandisk came late to the party.

from https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/wd ... ,5134.html

SanDisk and manufacturing partner Toshiba seem late to the 3D party. Their joint venture leveraged planar NAND longer than many industry rivals while simultaneously ramping up 3D NAND production for other markets. 3D BiCS NAND has shipped for at least a year primarily in mobile devices, but the third revision, now up to 64-layers high, is the next step up the ladder and SSD worthy.
The WD Blue and SanDisk Ultra come to market as the first SATA SSDs with 3D BiCS, but both drives have identical hardware and specifications.

It fits my bill perfectly. Bought a gaming PC in 2011 for Battlefield 3 max settings. 9 years later, its really slow. When a PC is slow, its mostly always the hard drive. Replaced my old 7200RPM drive with 1TB drive linked in this thread, ran the Samsung Migration Tool, and startup load time changed from 2 minute to 30 seconds. Everything is faster, and games play better too. :D

People throwing away their 9+ yr old PC need to upgrade their drive to one of these drives. So good.

Thanks OP!
