[Amazon.ca] All time low - Oster Versa 1,400 Watt Performance Blender with Low Profile Jar $99.99

All-time low for this blender at $99.99 (30% off).
I've been chasing the blender market for a good deal past 2-3 weeks and this is the one I've decided to buy. Best value for money I think.
This blender used to regularly cost over $200 till a few months ago according to a price tracker.

I was the biggest skeptic on high end blenders for the longest time, especially for Vitamix. Then one day I see them at Costco and I got sold. I'm not sure how this Oster compares to the Vitamix but from what I remember all my $40 Osters were beyond crap. I'm not quite sure how you can go from a super crappy blender to an amazing blender when you know some of the same engineering is put into the expensive ones.

I mean most of the engineering behind high end blenders isn't really too complicated, powerful motor, higher end components that last longer and a drive mechanism that is robust and won't strip, nothing too crazy. I have always heard good things about the Oster Versa from thewirecutter, but seeing as I have a vitamix I have never tried a Versa. I will say these high end powerful blenders are amazing, they make smoothies a breeze, no clumps of fruit, no smelly silicone seals like nutribullets. I will never go back to the cheapos.

RFD train got me on a refurbished Vitamix deal a couple years ago and I remember pacing around waiting for it to arrive and being like "+$250ish really? For a blender? Maybe I should send it back when it arrives." I've used it virtually every single day since then to make breakfast smoothies and occasionally, rice milk. I don't know about you, but I'm not one to get X servings of fruit or Y servings of veggies a day so just blending a bunch and chugging them down works really well for me. Not to mention you can buy discounted produce -> freeze -> blend.

As for this Oster Versa, I've heard good things about it for its price range. I'm still a Vitamix/Blendtec fan though and recommend most people just wait for a refurb or $300ish price tag. Try it and at worst, return.

Costco actually had it for that price for a while now. @Costco.ca

I have a blendtec so I passed on this one.

+1 I have this blender for the past 4 years and it does a great job of everything I throw at it. The variable speed dial allows me to do some coarse stuff as well!

Excellent heavy duty blender. It shouldn't be compared to the old cheap low powered oysters that are almost free at garage sales.

This is a excellent deal...I think i got the 1100 watt one for around $100 a few years back so for the 1400 watt model this is amazing.

Have this Blender also. For a few years now.

Only complaint is the blade has rusted a bit. Not sure if that is a problem with the more expensive blenders, like Vitamix & Blendtec.

Works great for all kinds of smoothies though. Frozen fruit, veggies, etc... For the price I don't think it can be beat.

Got this blender at Costco a couple years ago. Same price. I’d say not a Vitamix but for the price definitely comparable.

Works excellent... When the jar works. I'm on jar 3, thankfully the warranty is solid, and Oster support is decent.

The bearings in the jar fail, leading to smoke coming out of the base. Oster will ship you a new jar, but it's a pain.

We use our blender primarily for smoothies, twice a day for 4 people.

Cup of frozen mango chunks (Nature's Touch at Costco is a solid brand for frozen fruit), add enough mango juice to cover, a tablespoon of condensed milk for every cup you're making.

Unless they list that on their policy then you will probably be able to return it. Just don't abuse it. I've returned an old 40$ Oster when it started leaking on me and I don't even when I bought it.

We bought this blender 2 years ago, and it is regularly used to make hummus and other purees. Works great, but the lack of a removable bottom on the jar makes it a little harder to clean properly.
