If you are in the GTA https://furnacefilters.ca is the better deal.
Not true, same filter on amazon deal is $15 less. This is a decent deal for a good filter

I stopped buying the Filtrete brand years ago and now just buy the cheap $10 filters. Furnace repair guy told me it was a wise decision and it works 99% as the Filtrete brand ones.

My furnace guy told me to buy cheaper filters that are at least pleated as well. We know cheaper filters use less material and cause less strain on the furnace however it is fair to say cheaper filters let in more dust and possible unwanted matter.

Take their advice and make your own judgement. Do not take their word for it as it could be bias. If your furnace can handle higher end filters without causing strain on your furnace go ahead. If it can't, use the cheaper filters.

Thanks OP for the deal, I'll be picking mine up shortly.

This is very true

People forget as well that the better the "filter" then airflow to some degree is also restricted too.

Which means your furnace in turn is working harder to suck in air so it can circulate it as well

Unless you live in a super dusty area I dont think these super filters are really worth it

I’m a fan of Filtrete and have been using these filters for years. Keep in mind the particular filter mentioned above with the 1500 MPR is typically used during the winter months - you don’t want to run these during the warm months as the A/C is cranking. I use the 300 MPR during the Spring, 600 MPR in the Summer, and 1085 MPR in the Fall. Lowe’s typically has the 4 season 16X25x1 pack for $39.99 and I will pick up individual 600 MPR during the dead of winter from Walmart when they’re dirt cheap. The packaging will state lasts up to 3 months but you should be checking on your filter more often during the warmer months.

This advice seems to make no sense.
The 1500 MPR filters are advertised to help filter out alergens. Alergens are not active in the winter time period you mention to use the 1500 MPR filter

Costco has 4 pack of kirkland 2000 filters for 38.99. Where i always get mine.

Imo always use a good filter and if youre worried about strain change it more frequently.
