[Amazon.ca] Amazon.ca Dewalt DCL040 flashlight $26.99

Very good deal imo if you already have the batteries, HD sells it right now for $64.88, lowes for 84.99, HD in US $49. Bought one for myself.

Would that be good or bad? Sorry didn’t really research the type of diodes

Amazing deal! I bought this for way more and it was still worth it. If you have their 20V battery system and don't have this flashlight, definitely get it. There's an even brighter one than this but for 95% of your needs, this is more than enough.

XP-G is several generations outdated but for most people it will be much more then they have ever seen in a flashlight
It says 100 lumens, plausible, though it can do more but Dewalt didn't fully drive the chip. Only way to change that would be to rip it apart and replace the circuitry, not something worth doing.

The amazon listing says 110 lumens, so does dewalt's website

LEDs have advanced, newer generations give more light on the same power as older LEDs. For example 110 lumens suggest this is a 1W light (assuming XP-G), an XP-L2 chip at 1W is almost 200 lumens, almost double the brightness for the same power. Drive that exact same XP-L2 chip to 10W and get about 1200 lumens, brighter then a car headlight. The XP-G chip maxes out at about 400 lumens @ 4.6W (if you tried to give it 10W it would probably set itself on fire)

110 lumens only... pretty weak IMO.

works great. been using this for a couple of years. It's my most used item out of the dewalt combo of tools.

My only gripe is that for some work i find the light to be too concentrated but that's just personal preference. At this price, grab one!

if you've used one you'd know it's not weak. This thing is damn bright. If I could just take the swivel head and mount it during my night bike rides in the woods, I would do it. I have a main riding light that illuminates the trails really well, it's stupid bright and this light I would not hesitate to take with me if it was more portable.
