FWIW, based on the roasting I took during their Boxing Day sale, the language they use in these press release previews is a little misleading -- they say their "Black Friday deals store will open on Thursday, November 22 at 6 p.m. ET", which usually means they'll activate a bunch of graphics and update their homepage layout at that time, but the actual sale starts later (usually 3:00 AM ET).

I could be wrong, but just a heads-up.

Fire HD 10 with that discount for $150, any alternative suggestions from a value perspective?

Mainly going to use it for browsing, comic/picture viewing, maybe some videos.

Saying 'Saving X %' is not very transparent. Amazon is known for jacking up prices (a la canadian tire with their 99 Lagostina pans LOL)
I want to know the price.

The disadvantage is it uses the Amazon store which it terribad... but I assume you can install Play on it with minimal effort. In terms of value, and this is my own opinion, I don't think anything comes remotely close. I may pick up a couple of them, if even only to have a spare!

Honestly, if you know how to use google and youtube, you can quickly figure out how to install Google Play

If you are more tech savy, you can easily jailbreak https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd ... x-t3726443

It is an excellent tablet (even out of the box). If you plan on doing crossboarder shopping, it's going to be 99USD (approx 130CAD) tomorrow (ie. Friday Nov 16).

From a price/value perspective, I don't know anything that's close (unless it fell off the back of a truck)
You wouldn't know a communist if one jumped out of a giant May Day cake, slapped you across the face with a copy of The Conquest of Bread, and walked off whistling La Internationale.

Remember guys to use Keepa to tell if you are getting a good deal. It gives you historical/graphical history of the item (install the plugin so you see it on every amazon product page)

edit: since this comment is getting so much traction, I advise you also use fakespot.com

There are a lot of private sellers (especially in electronics, like dashcams) on Amazon.ca that utilize many tactics to generate reviews, so it's important to make sure you are getting the right thing. Always google the brand.
