ES8 has a camera and better sound if that's important to you, but really depends if you're already in the Google or Echo ecosystem. I have a Lenovo 8" (Google), better sound than the Nest hub, as well as a Home and 2 home minis.

BTW I have set one at each of my grand parents so that they see their grand kids and they work great !

They work well and you can also make voice calls for free to mobile/landline in the US/Canada.
You can access your AMazon Prime video account to play movies/tv shows.
As mentioned the sound is quite good and you can use it with Spotify (although Alexa doesn't work particularly well at finding artists/songs)
It's pretty easy to set up.

I started to see ads inside the OS more frequent now which i hate.
