Good deal but prime day is coming, might be a bit lower then?

I think the tablet was only introduced back then.

Are they releasing a new model this year or next year?

Doubtful. They don't have new models that frequently. The prior version of this one stuck around quite a while.

Amazon devices are the worst when it comes to bullshit IOT traffic. My pihole logs are full of BS connection attempts from my echo dots and Amazon prime video apps on mobile devices.

Reading the reviews it sounds buggy and is almost entirely targetted to selling Amazon crap. Convince me otherwise.

I’d caution anyone buying these at this point. While the FireHD 10 has a 64 bit cpu....Amazon has still handicapped it with a 32bit version of Android. I noticed this when trying to install a few games....Pokémon Masters being one of them. And I noticed a few others when the app required an update it couldn’t update anymore due to the 32bit os. 2gb ram may also prove problematic shortly. It’s a shame since the hardware provides good bang for the buck.

In Android Tablet world however there isn’t many viable alternatives at this price point nor even $100 more. Right now my kids run their 64bit only games on old LG G4 and G6 phones if they really want to play them and they do have the HD10 for their main use. Perhaps the 3gb/32gb version of the Huawei Mediapad T5 is a better alternative.

I bought one months ago when they had 2-1 deal. I've been using it for mostly movies and live sports when away from home. Works perfectly. Occasionally lags but not often.
Daughter uses this for games and netflix too. Remember to install play store!

The T5 is handicapped by the fact you can't use an SD card for apps/games. So you are limited to internal memory. Definitely would not recommend it, I have one and filled it up within 1 week.

32gb is fine for me. But if you rather a 64gb FireHD running a 32bit OS and Android 7...maybe that works better for you.

The 16gb version of the T5 is basically useless though. After the OS there is not much left for apps. That's why I only mentioned the 32gb T5.

Paid 125 in April 2019 for a 2017 version that I use only to read comics. Great device for this but it would be horrible as a general use tablet. You can turn a lot of amazon crap off with solutions from xda forums but the device never got a full non amazon version of Android so a lot of stuff is very clunky.
