The T5 is handicapped by the fact you can't use an SD card for apps/games. So you are limited to internal memory. In Android Tablet world however there isn’t many viable alternatives at this price point nor even $100 more. Right now my kids run their 64bit only games on old LG G4 and G6 phones if they really want to play them and they do have the HD10 for their main use. Perhaps the 3gb/32gb version of the Huawei Mediapad T5 is a better alternative.

32gb is fine for me. But if you rather a 64gb FireHD running a 32bit OS and Android 7...maybe that works better for you.
I haven't found an android rom from there without issues - audio levels, or headphone jack functionality, etc. I put a relatively clean rom on it and its much faster than with Amazon's junk, though. Overall a very good value if you can put up with dealing with custom roms, although tbh there's almost no development for these devices which is sort of the kiss of death long term.
