Sold my iPad 2(it is so slow, I can only use it for youtube) and give it a try to this one, was waiting for new iPad 2019, but still months away.
Hope it’s worthy.

1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM

Android apps are super RAM hungry. I don't think 1.5GB will get decent performance... Maybe as a cheap movie player, definitely not for games.

I bought two of the 2017 8" Fire tablets. Used daily for about a year now by my kids (Netflix, YouTube, games). Did the whole Google Play, nova launcher, yadda yadda...
Does everything they need just fine and were quite happy with the ourchases... however, battery life went downhill fairly quickly, I find.
The first few months were decent. Kids keep them about 70-80% brightness. Though the last little while, it seems that they can get only around 3 hours, I'd say, from a full charge. It was round 6 hours or more when new....maybe this is normal, given their usage patterns? Don't know if the newer model uses the same battery. Just giving my feedback.

I got one for my grandparents. I thought the speakers are kinda quiet at max volume. The screen's blacks are gray at best. Other than that, it's usable. There's no root yet so can't change the home screen. can't think of any alternative to this tablet. This 2018 model has lower battery life than the 2017 one but much better front camera.

It says on the Ebates Special Conditions that Kindle devices are not eligible.

Has anyone been given a rebate on Kindle devices?
