[Amazon.ca] Amazon fire TV 55" 4k - $439.99

Shopping for a new TV and found this one
I think it's not a bad deal especially it has fire stick features embedded
Best price since September 2021 according to ccc

This is a whole TV, not a stream stick

Unless they've improved it, our older LG with webos is garbage. Its terribly slow and limited. No issues with any of the hisense roku tv's from Costco.

Have tried the Fire Tv Cube. I find it comparable to my 2017 Shield for IPTV.

I've got a first gen 4k stick and it's running fine with virgin TV, Disney plus, Netflix all good even with Dolby hdr. Do you have non:4k?
Or did you jailbreak it?

Any RFDers try this yet?
Have a TCL and Hisense, rather have FireTV than Roku

Quality is not bad. Its rated decently on rtings, for what it costs compared to others within the same price range. Not to mention 4.5+/5 on Amazon from actual users.

TCL 4 series is decent tv for folks who aren't playing video games and just watching Netflix, tv etc.

And yet all my fire tv devices work. 4k stick has been solid for past two years, non stop use.

Or older style LCD TVs. Most newer models are like this, cross all brands

Somehow the price on this shows $659 now LOL. That's insane. However the Omni version (which is a much better buy) is still $469. But we've basically had a thread on these already...which was that same Omni thread.

Anyway yes these are basically variants of the TCL 4-series. Basic/low-end TVs but decent. Would definitely buy the Omni over the regular version if buying one of these. At the current prices they are ok buys. Def. not at reg. price where you could just get an actual 4-series for cheaper.

No because they're VA panels. VA would be fine for a smaller monitor but not a huge one--IPS is much more desirable for that. The trick is that IPS makes for poor TVs because of the shitty contrast, while VA panels make for much better TVs. For a monitor the opposite is true because VA sucks for viewing at an angle, and if you are sitting up close to a large screen and you're turning your head to see different parts of it, this will come into play.

Also this is most certainly not a 120Hz panel, lol. Vast majority of 4K TVs are not 120Hz panels. There are 120Hz panels cheaper than before these days, but cheapest 120Hz you're going to find are going to be Sony X85J and Hisense U7G. However these are significantly more expensive and also both VA panels.

At 4.5/5 rating, quality is bad? Anyway, the deal is dead.

Well yes, they improve specs and the os constantly on their tvs. Amazon is way behind.
