[Amazon.ca] Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, $55

The Amazon.ca Fire TV 4K streaming stick is on sale for $54.99. Not as good as the $35 during Black Friday price. But you won't have to wait until the next Black Friday sale.

Note that it will not ship until January 6th. So if it comes on a better sale during Boxing day, you have time to cancel the order with Amazon.

UPDATE: 30 Dec 2019 Deal officially over, everyone has it back to the regular $69.99 now.

No it's not.

But 55$ is not a good price.

This thing is worth alot more than $55. No regrets on purchasing it for $55 last year. Sold my apple TV right away.

For me it was the complete opposite, I bought the 4k stick at $35 for a secondary tv (already had an Apple TV 4k on my main tv), ended up returning the stick and buying a 2nd Apple TV 4K, it has better performance and a much better user interface and remote.

If you have a new smart tv with a great interface, any benefit to this?

I bought mine when it was on the $35 sale impulsively, and now I'm not certain it is of any use.

I agree these are worth the money, even at regular price. It would be hard for me to justify paying more than $35 since I got a few at that price.

@35$ it's a steal and I own an Nvidia Shield TV. Using it with emby, Disney+, Netflix, Kodi (watching NHL at 720p 60fps). All this via wifi...

My TV is about 4 years old but the smart apps are slow and horrible. The Fire TV 4k is so much snappier. Plus you can install Kodi which is awesome. Either for streaming or just to watch videos on your network. It's great.

I wouldn't buy this at $55 though. That's lukewarm. Has much better sales, and possibly could have another sale on boxing day.

I bought mine for 2 main reasons.
1. My Smart tv was apparently not Smart enough to get Disney+
2. The fire stick is the only smart device for tv that has access to the Bell Fibe app. (Great for a secondary TV insted of paying for a 2nd Bell Receiver)

After testing both a fire stick and a 4K fire stick I can confirm that the 4K is the way to go. The slightly better specs make a real difference as navigating menus is really smooth while the regular stick has an annoying half-second delay every time you move around.

Better performance, and will likely get updates longer. For $35 is easily worth it. I have a 2018 Vizio and it has smart features but I prefer the Nvidia Shield or Fire TV over the Vizio smart OS. Have used Samsung smart TV in the past and it was not very good. Maybe new sony, Samsung or Roku TVs are better?

I own the Nvidia shield (2017) and this Fire TV 4k. If you just want streaming, and not too concerned with expandable storage or wired ethernet than the Fire TV is a much better buy at $35 vs $200 for the shield.

The fire TV remote is far better than the 2017 Shield remote. In fact I bought a second fire TV at $35 just for the remote. The 2019 shield has a remote that fixes the remote issue.
