[Amazon Canada] Amazon Ring Doorbell + Echo Show 5 ($199 to $239)

Amazon has all of their doorbells on sale (except the new door view cam). Not as good as Prime day deal prices but still a drop so here it is:

Ring Video Doorbell Pro + Echo Show 5 $239

Ring Video Doorbell 2 + Echo Show 5 $199

It's a good deal because it also comes with an Echo. Best Buy and Source have it at the same price, but no echo.

Just remember to add the $40/yr subscription fee if you want full use of the doorbell cam, beginning after the first month free.

Yes, you can Live View, but you can't record without the subscription. It's even more important to get recording than you might think though - the notification that there is someone at your door can be very slow to arrive, and by the time you can respond you may usually see the back of someone walking away, or nothing at all. If you have recording, you can go back and see who was there.

Thanks for the information. I went with the pro and echo show. Hopefully I can leave live on the show all the time.

No, it's time-limited to a minute or two. It has to flow via the Ring servers, it's not local.
Update: according to FAQ, it looks like you can go up to 10 minutes on Live View now if it's not an event-triggered recording.

Unless you have absolutely zero use for a Dot? I'd rather they take another $20 or something off the price.

Yes, response time normally varies from about 5 seconds to 30 seconds between motion/doorbell activation and you receiving the notice on your phone. Occasionally even longer, for example on Halloween night. :)

We have 3 phones connected to our Ring doorbell, plus the Ring Chime. Occasionally when we are all together at home with the 3 phones on, and there's a doorbell notification, we can hear the notifications come in to the Chime and the 3 phones staggered over 30 seconds.

I'm going to probably sign up for this service as I just recently installed my Ring Doorbell Pro that I picked up a few years back for $150 from auctionmaxxx. The notification comes pretty quick to my phone but by the time I open the live view in the app it takes 3-5 secs for feed to load.

They charged separately for doorbell and show for my order I wonder if you can return one piece and keep other. It was approx. $56 for the show so $144 for ring doorbell 2 and 60 for show with pro so $180 for the pro.
