Prime cables also has a 12 outlet on sale for their deal of the day at $16.99.
Not sure if the surge protection is as good, but it has more space to fit wall wart power supplies - can fit at least 6 of those plus 6 normally spaced outlets.

Its interesting how many reviews their products get (so they must sell alot) - Some of their non electronic stuff we bought seem to be of decent quality, but when it comes to electronic items it really seems its getting worse. So many off brands on Amazon

Worse is the last thing we bought from Amazon came with a 'You get a free $10 gift card if you give us a review and show us' - Totally frustrated since of course we picked it because it had alot of positive reviews. Total BS. (And I know paid reviews aren't new, but this was the first time we've run into it)

Prime Cables branded stuff is terrible quality.
I bought a 12 outlet unit from them, half the outlets wouldn't receive a plug (misaligned female terminals inside the shell) and when I opened it up the internal wiring and soldering was atrocious. I was concerned that plugging more than one thing into it would put it at risk of fire.

Did you ever tell them? They're pretty good on sending you a replacement or refunding for defective items.

For those too busy to click:
"Dozens of Amazon's own products have been reported as dangerous -- melting, exploding or even bursting into flames. Many are still on the market"

(I wish people would cut and paste the pertinent info rather than just a link.)

Amazon started cracking down on this kind of behaviour. They made an example out of Aukey and Mpow, 2 really prominent electronics brands on Amazon, a few months ago. They were completely delisted because they used the tactic you described to boost their review ratings.

That's just wrong on so many levels. A better statement would be "The cheap "Jeff can make more money" crap has taken over Amazon". After all, the place of origin didn't force Amazon to carry their products there or to place Amazon's name on it - Jeff did.

I wouldn't say that Amazon is cracking down on this behaviour... I would say that Amazon is doing this to get rid of the competition on their own site under the disguise of doing the right thing. Amazon has a history of letting others take the risk in sourcing and developing a market for products and then finding the original supplier of said product, making a deal with them and then cutting out the original vendor by under cutting them OR by better promoting them on their website. I would not be surprised if Amazon was in the process of rolling out a line of Amazon Basics products that were top sellers for Auket and Mpow.

They only cracked down on those two (and I believe ravpower) because there were articles about them. Otherwise, based on the inaction up until then, it doesn't seem like they care.
