[Amazon.ca] AmazonBasics Steel Jack Auto Stands, 2 Ton Capacity (Pair)

Not quite an ATL ($23) but pretty close. I wouldn't use these if I were spending a lot of time under the car, but picked up the pair to add some safety while swapping my seasonal wheels.

Would you trust AmazonBasic after the recall on other products?

TBH, I think this is way overblown. Issue is that it keeps getting repeated over and over the internet and is then treated as gospel.

Yes there have been Amazonbasics products that have been defective (electrical power bar fires etc.) but not to the point where that a large percentage of them were. For every 1 anecdotal example of a defective Amazonbasics product, there are probably hundreds/thousands of normal working Amazonbasics products sold and being used.

You might want to consider a slightly better stand that also has the triangular pin that provides a second safety catch.

Would plated feet vs unplated have a difference, stability wise, on say driveway asphalt?
Buying things you don't need is what RFD is all about.
