Ryzen 7 2700 8c/16t is also on sale for $329

Can probably price match at ME if you have one nearby: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX71224

With Trump tariffs, don't know where prices will end up in the future

@ $199.99 for 2600 is a bargain if u look at intel's recent pricing issues and the overpriced i9-9900K ($670)
tho not sure if u want the upgrade to the x470 mb. but still u can get both for around $400 and that's a deal. Then u can upgrade to the ryzen 3000 coming out *Q2 2019.

Thanks! Anyone have a recommended motherboard for this? I keep getting compatibility errors on PC Part Picker when selecting 350's. Does it have to be 450+?

tempting. Will be probably make a new build this year.... on techradar they said "AMD appears to be trying to poach customers from Intel following the revelation of the latter’s new 9th-gen processors and their pricing, with the asking price of the Ryzen 7 2700X being chopped to just $294.99 at Amazon over in the US." Perhaps will see some more price drops black Friday?

It's a valid warning but I think any recent b350 stock should be flashed to support these chips. In the absolute worst case you can ask amd for a flash kit still I think.

When I bought at Newegg they specified on the website that my 350 mobo was ryzen 2000 ready. If your buying in store, the box will have a sticker on it saying if it's compatible with raven ridge CPUs

If only I didn't insist on Intel I'd be tempted.

I saw this deal first on a different site and end up jumping on it. Currently running an i5-4690 in my pc, which I've had for about 3 years and its starting to show its age. Upgrading to the Ryzen 5 2600 will be a huge performance uplift for me. Paired with a budget B450 board and some 3000mhz CL15 ram from newegg, I'm super stoked that I managed to upgrade my entire system for less than the cost of an i7-8700k (currently $490). https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/c9y8XP

This is a good deal, but the stated discount is wrong. $229.99 is the new normal price for this chip.

A B450 mobo is about $10 more than a B350 mobo, you avoid any potential firmware update issues, get slightly better performance, and it comes bundled with the storemi ssd caching software.

There’s a ton of info/benchmarks out there so do your research.

Refer to this thread for compatible ram sticks.
This has been pretty thoroughly debunked unless you're trying to run games at extremely high frame rates(high resolutions don't matter) on a high end graphics card.

Ffs, I bought one just a few days ago for $228 from NewEgg. This is a pretty sweet deal.

Btw, been having nothing but problems with my ram (Trident Z F4-3200C16D-16GTZ). Tried running it at 3200mhz using the Ryzen DRAM Calculator safe settings and it wouldn't even boot. Managed to get it running at 2933mhz but I still BSOD from time to time. If you were looking at getting the MSI B450M Mortar, I'd probably avoid it... Now I'm not really sure what to do and I'm not looking forward to buying new ram. Are there any cheap sets that you can easily OC to ~3000mhz and have good Ryzen compatibility? I don't miss Intel's pricing and needing to upgrade mobos practically every generation, but I do miss not having problems running my ram at their intended speeds.

Kind of tempted to buy another one at this price just to rule out having a shitty IMC on my chip.
