Hai fellow X58 user. I'm retiring my i7 920 lol

If I get a x570 mobo and 3700x before this ships then I'll just cancel. Otherwise this is my backup plan for 3000 series ryzen cpu lol

A $100 reduction on the 3700x would be nice.

@redflagdealsguy My pre-order for the MSI X570 Gaming Plus finally has a ship date of July 31.
Good man.
Think it can handle the 3900X or should I be looking at the Carbon Pro / Gigabyte Aorus Ultra?
Actually, I was told it might have trouble Turbo'ing on 3900X/3800X with it's VRMs. That was why I cancelled.

Instead, I was recommended two X570 motherboards under $300:
- Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570
- Asus TUF X570

From a firmware and support standpoint, I chose Gigabyte.

I pre-ordered it off MCS, if folks find a better supplier I'll cancel my pre-order.

Hope that helps.

For those new readers looking at a new Ryzen 3700X or higher:
1) Buy this 'deep discount' 3900X as a hedge
2) Hold until delivery or cancellation
3) if you're cancelled, come here to strategize.

God bless.

Haha should be no problem. My Asus X470 prime pro handles the R9 3900x just fine.

Got my 5670 going strong still. I am still unsure if this is worth the price for the performance improvement. I have 24gb ram on my x58 system.

A B450/X470 board with good VRMs, I don't have a particular board recommendation because I'm not up on 2nd gen boards.

Consider waiting to buy until you have the CPU.

That sounds like a higher end X470. The problem with the MSI Gaming Plus X570 may be the inadequate VRMs, I hope I'm wrong.

Don't want to get a 3900X and find out it can't sustain Turbo because VRMs are chugging.

I would pair this with an X470 or X570. Doesn't make sense to overspend on cpu and skimp on the mobo.

This was my thinking as well. I skimped on my 2600X mobo and regretted it... RAM issues ever since.

Never again.

@superfresh89, no harm no foul, but I passed on the MSI Gaming Plus X570 for that reason.

How do you tell if the mobo needs a BIOS flash to work correctly?
