Yeah I've honestly had no problems with my B350 Tomahawk & 3900X. No high idle voltages, no high temps. It's seen short boosts to 4.65 GHz. Tomorrow I'll test what it can sustain in Cinebench on my best core. On one of the lesser cores I've already gotten a Cinebench single core of 517 and multi core of 7168 which was higher than a lot of reviewers got on X570 and my RAM is only 3200 CL16.

B450 or X470? Probably, yes.

You'll also need an older gen chip to do the update before you put in the new guy.

If it's not X570 and doesn't have some kind of "Ready for Ryzen 3000" sticker then it needs a flash. Some have a way to flash without a CPU.

MSI is releasing MAX versions of their B450/X470 motherboards that have upgraded BIOS storage chips and will all be ready out of the box as well.

That 'Ready' sticker doesn't mean no flashing, trust me from experience.

Good, but expect a premium.

If anyone interested in the vrms for the x570 chipset check out the link they are rated from best to worst by company then just figure out price and what options you want on the motherboard. Just like the cpus though they are trickling in so stock might be hard to find. Also for me personally i take the warranty into consideration and only 3 have a location you can drop off in toronto and they are msi, asus and asrock. Not 100% on asrock though but i know for sure asus and msi have a drop off location in markham since i've dealt with them before.

That link supports my claims on the fewer VRMs with the MSI Gaming Plus X570 at 8 vs the Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570 at 12.

Maybe I can start a business passing around my R3 1200 for BIOS flashes. But judging by the Kijiji market around here, probably not.

Yesterday afternoon at about 2PM, PST. I was checking the price of the CPU, and the next time I clicked on the page just a couple minutes later, I saw the prices had changed on the 3800X and 3900X. I must have been one of the very first buyers.

Given how stingy they are? Yes I do. Also, maybe there's not a 10k people buying these to use them but you can be sure there are many who are buying to resell. Or for credit. Anyway pointless to speculate. We shall find out soon.
