I also have the i5 2500K and just cancelled because of your post, and after doing a CPU comparison at CPUbenchmark.
The i5 2500K = CPUMark 6477
Ryzen 5 3400G = " 9957
Ryzen 5 3600 = " 20043... a huge performance jump and only $50USD more than the current 3400G.

I bought the MSI B450M MORTAR Socket AM4 AMD B450 Micro ATX. it has ryzen 3000 in the support and you can use a usb to overwrite the bios. Still waiting on it from the UK.

Too late, I was immediately notified that it's already being processed for shipment. When I tried to cancel, there is no reason option for incorrect description. I guess that is not an option since I won't know it's wrong until I get it.

Odd how they work sometimes. They cancelled another item a few days ago due to "no stock", yet when I checked, there was indeed some available but at a much higher price. Both were sold and fulfilled by Amazon.

Yeah thats a huge difference.
Single core about 15% faster and multi core about 81% faster. Even though it only has 50% more cores, and ~50% more power consumption at most.. weird, maybe the GPU is holding it back.

2500K @ 4.5ghz (easy to do) = 7900
2600K @ 3.8ghz= 8422
2600K @ 4.5ghz = 10,000

I'm currently running a 2500K for 4K gaming and I still have no problem getting 60fps in most games almost maxed out.
I'm hunting for a cheap 2600K though.

4 Days since this thread started and the supposed description error still has not been corrected. This feels like an intentional bait-and-switch to dump stock and hope that most buyers just keep the item and not complain.

Ok so you think price errors at the ends of the spectrum were intentional?
Kind of creating artificial increase in demand or something?

Guaranteed, folks are enjoying this ride. We've yet to see the climax here, but we're getting close with the 3900X.

I'll be Twitching and Youtubing my '3900X' unboxing on Wednesday, be sure to like, subscribe, and join for the cool merch.

I'll also be here:

It would be kind of funny if you get a 3800x though

It's possible, but they might just not allocate enough human resources to fix the occasional mixup. So what if a few folks demand satisfaction, most might just slump their shoulders and accept it.

I'm kinda in the same boat as well, 2700k is another option (or the 3000 line)
but it's pretty expensive still, easily over 100+ and that's LOW for market price

Anything over 50$ and there's no point imo, which is probably impossible to get.

so what would happen i ordered the 3200g for $210 and received a 3400g instead? Could I complain that i got the wrong item and get 20% off that price? ($168 total?) Likewise, someone could try the same with the 3900x/3800x mix-up.
