It's odd the old models' prices are going up before the new models come in. How will they clear the old models?

Now that Intel's 10th gen has been released, AMD knows their product line is better and cheaper so probably they are willing to raise prices a little bit.

Except for storage/memory, all components prices have been high, nothing to do with intel or anyone
This price on the 3700x has been like that on amazon since a couple of weeks now

Part of the reason is the exchange rate (or thats the excuse). Of course the funny thing is its almost back at pre-covid levels already.

There also likely is no need for AM to clear out old stock at the moment or even after the new chips come out. There really isn't any competition for them to need to clear out and they could (and will) release new chips at higher price point due to lack of competition. Basically its almost time to cheer for intel if you want good prices going forward (competition brings in best pricing).

This is my theory:

Before the XT release, AMD binned best chip to X, and apparently, AMD realized that the quality of their wafer are better that they expected, so AMD now bin the best chip to XT, which means the X are now less surprier than before.
